Namprik @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail

Namprik is the younger of the two Thai restaurants opened by the same passionate owners of Surisit. Located in another part of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (same row as Secret Recipe), this tastefully decorated restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine with a good selection of salads, appetizers and entrees. Unlike its sister restaurant, Namprik is pork free.
Otak - Otak - This beautifully presented curry fish mixture was rustic, unpretentious and old fashioned.
Crispy Fried Fish Thai Style with turmeric and garlic. Best eaten immediately along with a bowl of intense dip of chili, garlic and fish sauce.
Namprik Kapi - The versatile Namprik goes perfectly well with the cucumber, long beans, cabbage, fried eggplant, fried mackerel and vegetable omelet.
Chicken Feet Salad - Being mostly cartilage, the chicken feet gives a distinct texture, which was very different from the rest of the chicken's meat. The combination of chili, coriander leaves, onions and Thai dressing made it a fun plate to consume.
Thai Prawn Curry with Pineapple - The aroma of the curry and the sweetness of the pineapples mingled extremely well with the fresh prawns.
Oxtail Tomyam - The sweetness of the broth was coaxed out of the bones and tendons, not to mention, the meat was meltingly tender - slurp worthy!

In Thailand, Namprik is a general term used to describe spicy paste. In Malaysia we called it Sambal.

Verdict: TOTALLY SMITTEN
